First of all, I will admit I cheated on the pulling-a-prompt-out-of-the-box process this time. The first one I pulled was a "draw whatever you want" prompt, and I was feeling too indecisive and new to the challenges to go with that one. So I pulled again and got this one.
This was again from one of my Flickr photos. I learned a couple of things about giraffes from doing this drawing. One - I didn't know they had those bumpy protrusions on their foreheads. Their little horn/antler things, sure, but what are those other bumps? Strange. And two - their nostrils are placed surprisingly far back. I guess that's the thing about staring at things to draw them, though, you notice things you wouldn't otherwise.
My main goal was to spend a whole lot less time on this than I did on the last one, and I succeeded. There were fewer colors to worry about, which I'm sure helped.
It is really fantastic! I drew a giraffe quite some time back, and had the same surprising revelations about them as you!

This is a great giraffe! Very lifelike and well done. Yeah, what are those weird bumps? I've never noticed them before, either! Thanks for your comments on my church:)

I commented on this yesterday, but I'm not sure where it went. Wonderful drawing! I sketched a giraffe quite some time back, maybe last year(?), and discovered those bumps too! It's amazing what we learn when we actually look!

ugh...just realized what happened! That is me on the first and third comment, it just doesn't have my name for some reason! Not sure why, I signed into my google accounts, but anyway, this is raena!

Raena - thanks for your comments! I am glad you identified yourself, I was wondering who the mysterious one might be from. I'm not sure why it doesn't give you a name when you comment with your Google ID - it certainly should.
I actually looked at other pictures of giraffes afterward to see if this one just had some sort of deformity, but it looks like it's standard.
