No cheating on pulling this one out of the box this time. As soon as I read it, I knew what I wanted to draw. Just a simple pencil sketch for this one.
My kids gave me this for Christmas 2009. It's an octopus, made out of blue fabric with a pattern of water droplets. They decided on the design, fabric, and buttons for the eyes together. My daughter did the majority (all?) of the hand sewing to put it together. That's a lot of poking yourself in the finger, if she sews anything like I do.
They were a little worried when they gave it to me that it wouldn't be "good enough," but it was perfect. There is nothing like receiving a thoughtful handmade gift, and particularly when it comes from your kids.
What a charming gift. I'm sure you'll treasure this one for a long, long time!

How very special. I like that you just did the pencil drawing. I also like the fortune cookie type label, great idea. Is it on all your challenge pages?

Definitely, Mary. It sits on our entertainment center just above the TV.
I printed out the first 100 challenges, cut them up, and put them in a box to draw from. When I scan the drawing, I just put the prompt on top of it. That way the page can be just the drawing, but I still have a record of what prompt it was in response to. I'm going to collage all the prompts onto the cover of the Moleskine when I'm done with the book.
