Everyday Matters #112

I took the dog out for a walk in the rain to take a reference photo for today's challenge, which was to "draw something fresh." I figured there's not much fresher than a flower in the rain. Of course, I didn't consider the fact that the tulips would be closed up, and the irises would have taken a beating from the raindrops. In other words, the flowers weren't looking their best. But I took a couple of pictures and then spent a lot longer than I expected drawing it. 

Most of what took so long was that I just wasn't entirely sure how to tackle the water droplets. But the answer, as with anything, is to quit trying to figure out what you're seeing and just draw it. I'm reasonably happy with the result.
