Time for some more things I've sent to people recently.
The excerpt from a book was the inspiration for me here. I decided to try to create a story based on that. So, it's a postcard full of mystery and snippets and notes to oneself. This was a lot of fun to put together and I'd like to do more along these lines - stories without stories, in a way. Also, I learned a new word: prosopagnosia.
Just a fun little piece made from an image transfer, ink, and some cut out words. It all seemed to go together pretty well.
On the other side of the postcard, a quick drawing. I like combining collage and drawing in the mail art I send.
In this case again, the drawing was suggested by the text of the page I used as a background. I have a rubber stamp I carved of a bat that I was originally going to use, but I couldn't lay hands on it right away so I just did a little drawing instead.
Recently I did some playing around with watercolors, and those sketches will undoubtedly find their way into some project in the future. It's kind of fun to play with them even though I'm no watercolor artist by any stretch of the imagination. I have scraps of watercolor paper left over from cutting out signatures for my journals and those are pretty perfect for my practice scribblings. I don't have to feel like I'm wasting perfectly good watercolor paper (which isn't cheap!).
I'm not sure exactly how I'm planning to spend the day today - collaging or drawing - but I'm sure it'll be productive either way.
