Penny helpfully alerted me to the presence of new mail yesterday by barking her fool head off at the mailman. He said something to her, but I didn't hear if it was mean or nice. We have a glass door at this house, so it's not like she can get anywhere near him.
Anyhow, the mail contained a completely unexpected card from Wenchkin. Unexpected because I had received one from her early in the G+ days when she wanted to know who would like to receive one of her awesome cards and I of course jumped at the chance. This one was completely unsolicited, but I'm thrilled because it gives me her new address and the opportunity to send something (hopefully) cool back to her. Oh right, the card:
I love the texture she gets by screenprinting her images.
Also, I received a postcard from Susan McAllister at IUOMA. (I'm apologizing in advance if I put this up with the wrong orientation, but it's how it felt right to me.)
This one is on thick cardboard - it feels like getting a real painting in the mail! I love the bold colors and the way it reminds me of looking at clouds and finding shapes. I really admire abstract work, it's something I just don't have in me to do, I think.
Thank you, Wenchkin and Susan!
